CBI contented a prohibit to use a particular synthetic (a chemist colour). Having been researched, its substance had an Azo as a cancer coz. Azo at Naphtha was reacted with diAzonium, rapidogen, direct and a chemist colour else.

Referring to those problem — Hendri Suprapto — did not believe whether Azo could cause a cancer or not. He was a chemistry technology high school industry and math graduate, ever consulted at medical faculty of Gajah Mada University (UGM), got an explanation about carsinogenetic included an Azo which could have attacked through epidemic (skin contact) or oral (saliva) in a long specific period. The fact those explanations were not satisfied him at all, so he asked the toxicology, pharmacy faculty of UGM. This faculty convinced him the same information that Azo had really caused a cancer.

Finally, it was found plants, which contented a natural colour to produce clothes such as Ihdigofera tinctoria, Casalpinia sappan, Caesalpini pulchirima, Ceriops condolleana, Pethophereum pterocarpum, Cudrania javanensis, Nycthanthes arbrotistis, Bixa orellana, Magifera indica, Morinda citrifolia, and Xylocarpus granatum.

Hendri then observed and researched why red colour from Morinda citrifolia mixed with Aporoso frustencens could colour the clothes and the result of its mixing was very satisfied. In fact, Aporoso frustencens had 51% (aluminum), by meant of, he had an idea by the first process to boil its clothes using Tawas. We have to know that Tawas had formula K Al (SO4)2 12H2), while Alum taken from Al. In addition, it was another name of Tawas. Cheerfully this process got a satisfied result. Hendri then looked for a literature as reference and found a book title Natural Dyes and Home Dyeing written by Rita J. Androsko.

He started teaching how to make batik used natural colour and modern technology named Mordanting Technology. The training of Mordanting Technology was drooped in batik and creator in Yogyakarta or others places such as Surakarta, Sragen, Pekalongan, Jepara, East Java, Madura, Bandung, Cirebon, South Sumatera, Jambi, Sulawesi, Bekonang, Kalimantan, NTB, Bali and Irian Jaya.

Working routine at his office, he was active at social organization, Karang Taruna in Yogyakarta precisely at Praja Muda Karang Taruna Kelurahan Demangan, Gondokusuman sub district, Yogyakarta. He really cared about the drop out youngsters from senior high school or university, so he trained them about how to use natural colour for batik effectively.
